Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the Hanging Gardens in Kalba, Sharjah. This grand event took place on March 8, 2024. During the inauguration, he toured the gardens and watched a singing performance by school students.

Dr.Sheikh Sultan inspected the mountain climbing paths, the excursion train that can carry 55 people, and the 760m running track. He also visited the upper area of the gardens, where a restaurant building was constructed.

Features of the Garden:

The Hanging Gardens in Sharjah were inspired by the ancient Hanging Gardens of Babylon, created by King Nebuchadnezzar to cheer his homesick wife, who missed the greenery of her mountainous homeland. Visitors to the Hanging Gardens can enjoy a variety of activities and amenities. The gardens cover almost 15 hectares, with over 100,000 trees and various recreational areas for children. Visitors can enjoy activities like mountain climbing with different difficulty levels, a 760-meter running track, and an excursion train tour to discover different parts of the garden. The central restaurant in the garden can accommodate 215 people. Additionally, there are special areas for children’s recreation and a skatepark for skaters. The construction of the Hanging Gardens attraction in Sharjah took approximately 18 months to complete. The cost of construction for the Hanging Gardens project in Sharjah was approximately AED 430 million.
